How to download the macOS 10.14 Mojave public beta
You can finally get a taste of macOS 10.14 Mojave. While Apple won’t officially release the next generation of macOS until the fall, that doesn’t mean you have to wait to give it a go. Mojave packs a punch with features like Dark Mode, a redesigned Mac App Store, and under the hood improvements. Apple’s public beta program has been around since 2015 and offers the chance for consumers to try out the latest and greatest software before the official launch. It's crucial to note that a public beta is still a beta, meaning there will be bugs, and with those bugs, the chance of losing data. If you’re going to install it, you’ll likely want to do it on a secondary device. And regardless of the Mac you're installing it on, you should back up all your data beforehand. To get the macOS 10.14 Mojave beta, you will need to register with your Apple ID at beta.apple.com (also the place to access the iOS 12 beta). You'll then be prompted to download the macOS Mojave public beta access utility. After you’ve installed this app, the Updates section of the Mac App Store will include the public beta seeds. It might take a few minutes for those updates to appear, as the utility will need to register your Mac with Apple’s public beta servers. Once that happens, the macOS Mojave public beta will appear as an update -- click on that and the installer will download. Then just run the macOS Mojave installer by choosing which drive to install it on and agreeing to the terms and conditions. After the installation is complete, you'll have macOS Mojave on your Mac. And that new purple icon in the dock is the official Feedback app, which lets you send thoughts and recommendations about Mojave directly to Apple. Go on, be an influencer!
